Official statement from the Parish Council as to their current position:

We know many of you will have worries and questions following the issue raised on 17 June 2026, in the House of Commons by the Rt Hon Mark Prichard. Like you, this was a complete surprise to the Parish Council, and it’s completely understandable that this has caused concern, and we want you to know that your voice matters.

We also recognise that the lack of official information so far creates uncertainty. The discussions happening across local groups and forums show how important it is for our community to stay connected and informed. As your elected Parish Council, we want to reassure you that we are here to represent you. We are formally recognised by both local and national government, and we already have direct channels of communication with them.

We held an online Parish Council meeting yesterday afternoon, called in line with standing orders, and are actively seeking clarity on your behalf. We are asking questions, challenging where needed, and working to understand the facts behind Wednesday's announcement. As soon as we receive reliable information, we will share it with you.

We will keep you updated through a range of methods, which may include public meetings. Please keep an eye out for further announcements.

If you have any questions or information you would like to share with the Parish Council, then please email [email protected].
